Summer Recap

My poor blog has been neglected! I've tried to do more knitting, but I haven't had much time. I was gone the whole month of July and I didn't pack my knitting tools, because my suitcase was full of archaeology tools. I visited Belize and it was awesome! The people were wonderful, the sites were amazing and well the weather was hot....really, really hot. And the bugs were vicious little blood suckers...Oh and the jelly fish weren't very nice either. Here is proof.

I know, I know it's gross, but I had to show off my war wounds....Ha ha.

On a different and happier note, my aunt Gicy decided to have another baby (after eleven years!). It's going to be a girl and my aunt and uncle plan to name her Gema, pronounced (Hema). So, I decided to start a baby blanket. I found the pattern in a book called Blankets, Hats and Booties. The book was purchased in a Riverside yarn shop called Designer Hand Knits and the yarn was purchased at Close Knit. I'm almost done, I need 2.5 balls. This is what it looks like.

The pattern is actually very easy and it looks really nice....But of course, I got bored of just working on one project, so I started a scarf...yes a scarf in this 100 plus degree weather. I found the pattern on Ravelry and I'm pretty proud of it too.
