I started this Penguin last night and finished it like 5 minutes ago. It's actually very quick to make (but I had to get to help get ready for tomorrow) and easy to assemble. However, his beak came out a bit crooked. I really wanted to finish it, so I wasn't to careful....Now I wish I would have. Can't do much about it now. He's adorable nonetheless. I can rest now, it's been quite a busy day. Happy Holidays!!!!!

Hooter Tecolote and Don Fante
Behold the birth of Hooter Tecolote and Don Fante.....Plus baby booties!
This christmas I decided to handmake my gifts, in order to add a touch of warmth and loooove! Here are some of the things I made.

I also had a knitting needle case made ( I don't own a working sewing machine) for my friend. It turned out real nice, but unfortunately I didn't take pictures of it. I'm also waiting on some handsewn wallets that I asked one of my aunts to make. I'll post pictures of those once they are finished. (Hopefully before christmas). It's been fun making things, I'm taking advantage of my free time before I become enslaved by school again. For those who don't know, I submitted an application for mortuary school as an act of impuls and to much of my surprise I qualified! I really don't know what to expect. This could be fun or it can go horribly wrong....only time will tell.....I will be optimistic.

San Francisco and Art Fibers
I visited San Francisco and it was great. The architecture was beautiful, the shoping was wonderful, and the food was delicious. I didn't want to come home, but alas....Being home is so UGH.
On a happier note, I bought very awesome fiber and yarn from Art Fibers. So, I get to stare at the yarn and contemplate all the wonderful things I can turn it into. I should mention that Art Fibers will close in January. They will remain selling their products online, though. But, if you find yourself in San Francisco, GO BUY YARN! You may never get to see and feel such pretty yarn.

Gema is Born! Plus Squidlien.
Baby Gema was born last week (Sept. 25), but I haven't finished her blanket yet. I just need eight rows, unfortunately I left the last ball of yarn at my aunts house in Fontucky, so I have to wait until Wednesday to finish...Arg. This is what she looks like. She was a whopping 8 pounds! Yikes...
While I'm waiting for Wednesday to come around, I have been playing with yarn and came up with Squidlien, half squid, half Alien. I was making an asteroid flower from Crochet Bouquet, when it occurred to me that it looked like tentacles, so I decided to make a head. My crochet skills aren't great, so I was sad when the head was way too big and it wouldn't stand up by itself. Then, I started smashing the head and making creases and this was the result! I think it's cute!

Summer Recap
My poor blog has been neglected! I've tried to do more knitting, but I haven't had much time. I was gone the whole month of July and I didn't pack my knitting tools, because my suitcase was full of archaeology tools. I visited Belize and it was awesome! The people were wonderful, the sites were amazing and well the weather was hot....really, really hot. And the bugs were vicious little blood suckers...Oh and the jelly fish weren't very nice either. Here is proof.
I know, I know it's gross, but I had to show off my war wounds....Ha ha.
On a different and happier note, my aunt Gicy decided to have another baby (after eleven years!). It's going to be a girl and my aunt and uncle plan to name her Gema, pronounced (Hema). So, I decided to start a baby blanket. I found the pattern in a book called Blankets, Hats and Booties. The book was purchased in a Riverside yarn shop called Designer Hand Knits and the yarn was purchased at Close Knit. I'm almost done, I need 2.5 balls. This is what it looks like.
The pattern is actually very easy and it looks really nice....But of course, I got bored of just working on one project, so I started a scarf...yes a scarf in this 100 plus degree weather. I found the pattern on Ravelry and I'm pretty proud of it too.

Imitation Embroidery II Scarf
Once again I used a pattern from my awesomely ancient pattern book and have created a scarf...What's new. I am making a baby blanket and another pair of socks, as soon as I finish those I'll post up picture...However, I don't think it will be soon. I assumed that I'd have more time to knit after finishing school, but it seems that having a job has monopolized my time, who knew. Any ways here is the pattern for my scarf. Enjoy! It is quite easy.
